I strongly recommend that if you have a choice to make between buying Bitcoin or ethereum, then buy ethereum since is much more cheaper to buy now, you probably have the opportunity to catch the spoke in prices which I certainly believe would happen.

I think that in terms of trading it depends on the time period that you were looking to trade over. Whilst I do agree that bitcoin can be considered more profitable I think that this is more related to long-term trading. If you look at the Ethereum coin, the value of the coin can sometimes fluctuate greatly over the course of a few days, and with the lower value than bitcoin, this provides you with a great opportunity in order to trade it daily and try and make a good profit. However, Bitcoin requires a larger investment to make use of these fluctuations and see the results.

I currently do not know the market value of bitcoin and etherium. What you should put into consideration is the current and likely future value. If I were you, I would invest on the one with a high reduction in market price and which is likely to increase in value.

For me it’s ETH all the way as I believe in the future of dapps / its ability to scale wih eth 2.0. I also a bit wary about the future of proof of work and even lightning network,

But for you I would recommend 50/50 between BTC and ETH or even 60-70% BTC but not more.

Investing in bitcoin is good if you have the capital and can afford it but if you can't then go for ethereum cause ethereum is a project that is rising day by day and the fluctuating of the ethereum is worth trying.

You should invest in etherum for now though and it even tends to be there most recent between the two of them.
