Regarding ripple(XRP) overtaking polkadot (dot) back into fourth in ranking. I know the cryptocurrency world to be volatile so overtaking is allowed among the coin most of the time,apart from Bitcoin and ethereum, the positions can still vary

Yeah! That was not peculiar to ripple because many coins dipped even at a greater percentage than xrp. I just hope that btc normalizes so as to give time for the coins to recover.

Every coin has it time and people who have watched ripple closely would agree that the SEC lawsuit affected it growth initially and it struggled to survive it , this most coins might have seized to exist but ripple is succeeding.

Polkadot is trying but can never take the place of ripple. It is because of the law suit against ripple that make people not to want to invest in ripple. But despite the fact the law suit against them, they are still doing well

Both XRP and polka dot are great projects in their own way. With it's kusama project and the associated parachains, Dot is not something one should ignore. However, it's also clear that it's only the SEC lawsuit that's holding ripple back and it will fly when let loose.
