Even if we knew the price was going up in the future, for most of us holding cryptos on our wallet was not possible because we had bills to pay. Even today, I withdraw my cryptos to pay bills and buy groceries. I know the price will go up, but when you do not have a second income source, you have to use whatever you have at your disposssal.
Yeah , sometimes you check your wallet and it doesn't make you smile while sometimes it gives you hope and make you smile more , patience is very important in Crypto currencies investments.
I think most people also go into it base in what they were told about it,most mentor won't tell you the truth all because they just want to collect their trading training fee from you,so they might tell you with this way you could get rich over night if you trade well and follow their step one after the other. But at the end once they collect their fee for a week or so,they tell you to go ahead and invest but at the end you lost it all.
These are very good reasons, but I think that to a large extent another point that you could add here is panic selling. When they buy a coin and see the price that is starting to go down they immediately sell off all their coins and in this case they will make a loss rather than analysing the market and acting according to knowledge, they react by their emotions.
I quite agree with you on that point of focusing on bitcoin alone, there are many other coins to invest on with little capital with huge potential.
