Is it normal for owners to buy clothes for animals?

This trend appeared not so long ago because in the past people bought clothes only for winter so that their pets would not be cold during a walk, but now they buy in any weather so that they look stylish, but in my opinion it is a little strange what people want to do with animals like themselves

I don't like when people make their pets wear clothes. I find this behavior disgusting.

For me that actually make sense with consideration to certain scenario or factors such as the type of pet or type of clothing your buying. On the norms the aren't to wear any clothing at all.
