In today’s article I will present a tutorial for creating an icon wallet.
To avoid misleading links, we will go to coinmarketcap.com and from the list we will click on the icon, reaching their presentation page from coinmarketcap: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/icon/
From the left menu, we will click on the Website, we will reach their page: https://icon.foundation/?lang=en
In the Header website menu, we have a button that writes Wallet and takes us to an extension in Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/iconex/flpiciilemghbmfalicajoolhkkenfel?hl=en
We install this extension in Chrome and follow the steps:
– create wallet
– we name the wallet and choose the password
– download the keystore file required for any backup or recovery of the wallet.
– we copy the private key and print it. Click on Complete when we are sure that everything is copied / printed / saved
– and now we have access to the wallet.
Here we will find our icx address, and if you click on the arrow, the QR code required for the scanned transfer will be discovered.
For installation in the ledger, we will need the live ledger application from ledger.com and follow the steps explained on the Icon support page: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007653614- ICON-ICX-
We already have Iconex wallet installed in Chrome. We also need access to the live ledger.
– Connect the ledger stick to the PC / laptop
– we authorize the live ledger application
– we make sure we have the latest version of firmware
– install from the Manager menu a live ledger, icon app.
– appears on the ledger stick icx, and select by navigation, start wallet.
– from the icon wallet installed in Chrome, we access Connect via ledger. And we reach the wallet where we find more icx addresses.
In order to receive icx in the ledger it is necessary to copy one of your respective addresses and provide it for transfer.
To send icx from the ledger click on Transfer and then fill in each field in the form.
