That depends on a lot of factors. I think to be able to successfully work as a remote worker, you need to be willing to work all hours, or odd hours. You will also need a quiet environment to do your work in. Yeah, you need to work at any hours. I am based in Asia, and when I get a client from the US and Canada, I will have to wake up in the middle of the night to communicate with this client and work on his tasks. Based on the location of your client, you will have to modify your working hours.

When you go to the office or any workplace you are surrounded by your colleagues, and if any kind of issue occurs, you can work on that in person, and talk about it.
