How to avoid taxes on charity payments?

There are many people who love to offer payments and donations to charity organisations. However, they get taxed for doing this and this may seem unfair. Charity payments and donations should not be taxed at all. So, how to get tax waived off when it comes to donations?

I do not know how it goes in other countries, however, in my home country, charity money is free from taxes, the giver and receiver, both do not have to pay taxes on the charity. I guess, it is a similar case in Europe and America.
