Litecoin's Scrypt mining algorithm requires more memory to solve problems compared to Bitcoin's SHA-256 algorithm. This makes it more resistant to ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits), as they typically excel at performing a single operation very quickly but struggle with large amounts of memory. As a result, Scrypt helps maintain a more decentralized network compared to Bitcoin.

Litecoin mining may differ from Bitcoin mining in terms of mining difficulty. This is one of the major differences. Some of the coins are ASIC-resistant as well. Not sure if Litecoin is one of them.

I have never tried to mine Litecoin. I don't even know how it works but I have mined Bitcoin countless times.

While Litecoin and Bitcoin share some similarities in terms of mining principles and underlying technology, they differ in their mining algorithms, block generation times, block reward structures, and difficulty adjustment mechanisms. These differences contribute to distinct mining experiences and have an impact on the overall characteristics and use cases of each cryptocurrency.

Yes, Litecoin can be mined thanks to ASIC firmware, almost all cryptos that work in POW can according to what I understand, Bitcoin and Litecoin mining are not very different from each other, since as far as I know Litecoin is a fork of Bitcoin created in 2011, and both use the same script, that is, SHA-256.

Litecoin mining differs from Bitcoin mining primarily in the hashing algorithm, block generation time, total supply, difficulty adjustment, community and development focus, as well as popularity and adoption. Despite these differences, both cryptocurrencies utilize PoW consensus and are mined using similar principles.

The only thing that I know to be different when it comes to Bitcoin mining and Litecoin mining is their mining protocols. Bitcoin mining makes use of SHA-256 PoW algorithm for its mining while Litecoin makes use of Scrypt PoW algorithm. Their energy consumption for mining also differs too as Bitcoin takes more energy than Litecoin to mine.
