How do you decide between short term and long term investment?

While investing in crypto market, there is basically a simple strategy, you either invest for short term or long term. Some people also do short term and long term investment at the same time. If you are juggling between short term and long term investment, how do you choose assets for short term and long term. What crypto do you choose for short term and what crypto do you choose for long term investment?

I realized a long time ago that cryptocurrency is no longer a good asset for short-term investment and even for a period of 5 years I will not get a very large profit. Most of my assets I will keep for more than 10 years and I am willing to wait that long for a profit
