I don't know what quantum computing will have to do with cryptocurrency mining when the time comes, but according to what I heard from a mathematician and quantum computing engineer, this technology is a latent danger for all cryptography including blockchain and cryptocurrencies, because it will be able to break any encryption said by this person involved in the development of this technology.
