Have you encountered any fake cryptocurrencies?

Wow most times it is always advisable that we understand the type of cryptocurrency we invest on, if you're not sure about the future of a particular cryptocurrency it is advisable for us to stay off.

Personally, I have not had any encounter with any fake coin. But I used to hear about the one coin someone mentioned above and was surprised that it disappeared just like that. If not for this thread I would not know that the creator embezzled such amount of money. There are actually so much to learn here while earning some bucks. Thanks for sharing.

There are so many dubious crypto currency. I have encountered it personally because I'm not a trader but my acquaintance gave me this eye-opener.

You can only be able to encounter cryptocurrency that is not likely to last for a long time during their airdrop because during that time is when most of them will cease its operation. We all have to be guided to avoid losing our money.

that's true ,there are Manny fake cryptocurrency all over ,but the only way to avoid fake cryptocurrency is by buying it from the best online store , this is the only way out to avoid buying fake crypto .

With coinmarketcap data for all coins, I don't make such kind of mistakes to choose a coin that isn't reputable. At Binance you'll simply see only trusted coins and not fake because Binance took their time to survey every coin before listing it.

This is my exact reason for sticking as much as possible with coins listed on Binance or any other reputable exchanges. Most of the tokens launched now are just for the developers to make quick money off innocent investors.

Yes, l have come across a lot of them, most times l am made to download their app and mine every hour, of which at the end of the day, you get nothing out of it all. Also, you are asked to perform certain tasks on telegram and Twitter in order to earn, with the promise that it will be listed in exchange, yet nothing came out of it too.

There is one I encountered recearly, it cleaned to be distributing airdrop and I joined the airdrop but on the distribution day, they had to postpone it till another day. I am suspecting it's a fake coin.

Yes I got an Airdrops of a certain coin called Carlive coin.
I made some research and I realized that it has only 10 billion total supply and I have 1 billion, my three brothers also got the Airdrops too.
So we had 3 billion coins in our wallets but we are unable to exchange it for anything
