Ever network at industry events?

Has anyone here ever networked at an industry event? Maybe it's part of the work you do, or it's a company that matches what your company is. Or it's an industry of the same freelance workers joining each other for an event to network their talents and all that fun stuff.

That is the trend now. Most of the youtube influencers are gathering together at an event organized by one of them and thereby increasing their followers and subscribers too. There are certain business networking groups too that indulge in professional methods to increase clientele.

I've been contracted to network for a sporting company last 5 years ago. They had a yearly event they normally host to bring together all their investors to celebrate the year's business success. The networking job lasted 4 days and I was paid $200 daily for the job.
