Does Bitcoin have any real value?

This question is quite tricky and very difficult to answer in simple words. There are a few experts who have claimed that Bitcoin and other coins might have a market price, but their actual value could be nothing. This makes sense as Bitcoin is a digital asset. However, since Bitcoin is now used as a payment option and it serves a good purpose, I believe that Bitcoin might have an actual value.

Even the so Called fiat currencies have value only because we the people see value in them, so there's going to be actually no point thinking that cryptocurrencies ain't valuable since they're digital.

Thanks so much and get to know now about Bitcoin because it's a not a physical currency hence, it's a virtual digital currency that we use as an exchange for services or products.

Bitcoin is not guaranteed by gold or any other material object, and it is not underpinned by any fiat money. It makes me question whether I should trade in or HODL Bitcoin? Thinking about this further, Bitcoin does not require any sort of "backing." It's a huge asset. It serves a purpose. It's worth something. It is in high demand. And after all, there is a market cap supply. What do you think?
I think that the best thing that you can do is that you shoudl hold your bitcoin for a long period of time because as there are more countries that are starting to adopt it you can also see that there is a lot of rises in its price.

True Bitcoin has no backing, personally I feel Bitcoin has value because we the investors and traders give it value. The amount of trust we have towards the coin it self and the things we use it for is what actually gives Bitcoin it's value. Once demand and supply of Bitcoin stops, it would be completely useless.
I personally agree with you on that because if there are no investors, that means bitcoin will loose it value , high patronage of a particular bitcoin by investors will lead to high demand for it.

That's right, how long do you think crypto currency would last though, there have have lots of talks about a time where crypto currency would no longer be traded, do you think such a day would come?

The day there is no internet in the world, there will be no bitcoin, but don't think we will experience that yet because bitcoin may be totally accepted in the next century.

I don't really think so, but I wonder why the coin has grown so much to the standard it is today , maybe probably the reason is because it was the first cryptocurrency to exist and people only fall in love because of the volatility and the ability to increase your investment.

Since Bitcoin does not have any intrinsic value, its value is necessarily intersubjective, depending on how much each trader expects the rest of the market to behave. In the long run, there may be multiple stable equilibria for Bitcoin's value: a million-dollar bitcoin price could be just as stable as one of $0

True, bitcoin is not backed by gold or fiat money but also paper money is not backed and bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market has overtime been backed by its value.

Frankly speaking, outside the realm of the internet, bitcoin does not have any value. The value of bitcoin is based on the internet. If there is no internet, you cannot transact bitcoin, or convert to real money.

Bitcoin has alot of value and I believe it value will continue to increase in Standard because people are becoming very aware about it operation and benefit of investment.

As long as people consider Bitcoin to be valuable, it's safe to consider it as an asset. However like all investors, it's wise to diversify and not keep all of one's life savings in Bitcoin.

The reluctance of so many governments to openly about the Bitcoin project has made a lot of people not to trust it and rightly so. Meaning of bitcoin to so many people right now is a risk and as such you should tread carefully.

The truth is bitcoin will always value, even if the price drops to $100. It is at a point now where it doesn't need influence like fiat currencies, economic policies and whatnot can affect it. Many more years to come, bitcoin will still be valuable.
Can bitcoin ever reduce to $100? That looks like something that is impossible given the value and market price bitcoin has already accumulated over the years.

We trade based on the value of the coin. The question asked by the thread poster is very funny. The value is boldly written on the exchange platforms. The only thing different is that the market value fluctuate based on the market sentiment.

Bitcoin has real value right from the inception as it was backed by gold standard. That was the reason why the price of Bitcoin skyrocket at a point in time before it was taken off gold standard. It is the instinct value that makes the price of the bitcoin to go up in the marketplace.

The critics would say that bitcoin has a speculative value. This is not actually true in the real sense. The market values is what is traded with. However, bitcoin doesn't have a fixed values. The value changes in response to the market sentiment.

Well, it can not be totally concluded as to have value or has no value. The lack of value depends on the decision of the government as long as the government will illegalise the used of bitcoin, it value fall.

The bitcoin investors are the people evaluating and valuing bitcoin and i the crypto currency and that's why bitcoin keeps increasing and decreasing because of its volatility nature,
How valuable bitcoin is can never be underestimated because I know a lot of people who are into cryptocurrency trading and they are making thousands of Dollars from their trade.
