Yes, I have used cryptocurrencies to send money to family members living in another country as I believe it is the fastest payment system with the least fees, also the one that normally puts the least restrictions and is open to everyone, so it is perfect for sending money in remittances.
 
I do not work in a foreign county, I live in my home country, so I do not send remittances. However, in recent times people working on foreign countries are frequently using crypto to send remittances to their loved ones back home. It is faster way to send funds and also a cheaper method.
