Do you think MySpace could have survived today?

If MySpace were to become a thing today, would you think that MySpace would survive or would it fail fast? I think back in the early 2000s was the best time for MySpace. I don't think MySpace would have survived the internet as it is today. Not with how reels and short form content has become king.

But, what do you think?

In terms of popularity, Facebook quickly surpassed MySpace and became the dominant social networking website. Facebook's user base grew rapidly, and it eventually became a global phenomenon, while MySpace's user base declined. In 2011, MySpace was sold for a fraction of its former value to Specific Media, and it was rebranded as a social entertainment website. MySpace and Facebook had different target audiences and design philosophies, and Facebook ultimately became the more successful and popular platform.

Yes of course, I believe that MySpace would have survived today if the team and ownership of the social media platform had the balls to compete with Facebook when it came out. There's nothing bad in copying what other social media platforms are doing. MySpace would have copied Facebook with small differences to keep up.

The reason why myspace failed to compete with facebook and lost the race to become a popular social media platform is because it could not incorporate new features and attract Gen Z. A lot of businesses that cannot adapt to the changed situations will fail, or even die.

The simple truth is that they can actually upgrade whatever they needed to upgrade in order to be in business but they choose not to. It's the same thing that happened with Nokia in the phone company. They had all the possibility of doing when others did but they refused and paid for it.
