Do you think humans and aliens could work together in Earth?

so let's say aliens come to earth we like each other and start working together in many businesses to make money together and contribute for the world, and on projects, either for the global warming, robots, weapons and superior technology, I think that we would get along and it would be good but the thing is that there will be bad things too as of racism, disagreements, hatered and so on. The more they will be similar to us the less hate they would get but who knows maybe it could be for the better.
What do you think? could humans and aliens work together here in Earth? Will it be for the worse or for the better?

This is a very technical question that I wouldn't really know exactly how to answer it because I've not really have any encounter with alien forms to know exactly if they are receptive towards human beings. From the things that I've watched in so many sci-fi movies, they don't usually like to deal with human beings. They would rather want to exterminate human existence and takeover.
