Do you still use email marketing for traffic

I am using the word "still" in the question because I no longer use email marketing for traffic. Even though I believe email marketing is one of the most effective methods for bringing traffic, it becomes difficult if you do not have a huge email list or if your subscribers are not genuine. It is very difficult to build a big email list with genuine subscriber.
