In our country, it is illegal to ask for service tax from customers. Therefore, service providers like hotels, restaurants, etc. cannot charge service tax. However, some restaurants are doing this. Sellers can only charge VAT, they cannot charge service tax.

In our country, there is no service tax, it is illegal. People pay only taxes during purchases in malls, stores, or other kinds of taxable properties like real properties and more.

@timewo, that is correct, small entrepreneurs are exempted to pay service tax. But I saw local government collecting only pay daily for the space that is installed in a public market for example at a minimum amount for maintenance fee.

There are some people who do it here but I always avoid them instead of causing any form of drama with them
