Cryptocurrency in Gaming

Let's use this thread to discuss about the integration of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology in the gaming industry. How would it be if all games start making use of cryptocurrencies for in-game purchases or even purchasing the whole game from steam maybe? Has it already started getting implemented?

I don't believe this has already been implemented but I will admit that it would be amazing to see happen within gaming, giving gamers the option of another way to pay for games or even make in-game purchases as well.

I myself have recently started getting more into crypto and accepting it as well and being able to use that to purchase things I wanted would be an amazing option to have.

I think this will be done at some point in the future, but I do not think it will be done with tokens created for the game that are governed by the laws of the market because they could be very volatile and not be profitable at all to support this type of tokens, but it would be nice if you could buy with Stablecoins on platforms such as Steam or PS store.

There are games that currently work with blockchain technology such as Axie infinity, but I think blockchain technology can be much more involved in the gaming world.

Traditional games have not incorporated crypto into their platforms, however, there are a lot of web3 based games where you can use crypto transactions, you can even earn crypto coins by plating these games. Interestingly, there are also platforms where you can buy in-game currencies through bitcoin and other cryptos.

This will definitely boost the likeability of crypto coins in the world as the number of people playing games are quite big in many countries of the world. How I wish that gaming companies such as Sony and Microsoft will take such initiative serious.

There's been so much integration of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology in the gaming industry and all these can been seen in all the cryptocurrency based video games that gamers can play and earn cryptocurrency. I haven't been playing such games anyways but there are so many people out there who enjoy playing them. Axie Infinity is one of most popular blockchain-based video game in the past few years.

Crypto games are available on PC and mobile and they have not appeared on consoles, yet (that's what my research tells), however, I believe soon these games will be available in consoles and consoles companies wouldn't want to be left out of this opportunities. Crypto, mostly Bitcoin, has already been established as one of the most used payment forms, so soon there will be influx of marketplaces where you can buy games and top up games with crypto

I also believe that it is something that is capable of happening sooner than later because for it to be possible to play crypto games on both PC and smartphones and be able to earn bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, I don't see it as anything difficult for developers to be able to do the same thing on video game consoles. Someone can easily download those games on their console and still participate in the whole process of being able to earn cryptocurrency when playing them.

While offering a gaming experience, crypto games also allow you to collect NFTs and tokens that you can sell from other cryptos or fiat money. There are also cryptro games where you earn crypto solely for playing. YOu earn crypto after finishing or winning the game. I think these games will continue to grow and take the center stage in the gaming industry.

I believe that as long as cryptocurrency keeps getting popular with being supported by all those big cooperation that it will bring more credibility to cryptocurrency. Such games are going to keep coming up because those big companies will like to get involved in cryptocurrency as well so that they will gain from the whole project.
