Manivel Thevamanogari and Gangadory Thevamanogari, two Melbourne ladies, got a AUD$10.5 million deposit from crypto exchange Crypto.com after it made a mistake and gave a AUD$100 refund. According to reports, an employee accidentally sent money to the wrong bank account by entering an account number in the payment field rather than the return amount. Court documents state that the recipient used some of the funds soon after receiving them to buy a luxury home.

They have been ordered by the Supreme Court to sell the luxury home and return the money back to Crypto.com.

This is really not good. While it's understandable that anyone can make such a mistake, the recipient should have reported the excess funds since they knew the source.

If it had come from an unknown wallet address, there could have been a case for the use of the money since cryptocurrency transactions are not traceable.
