Could the USD become crypto itself?

Seeing the rise in crypto adoption, a lot of countries are trying to launch their own CBDC. I believe sooner or later US government will also launch CBDC so that it can get a market share on crypto market.

The US dollar itself will not become a cryptocurrency because it is a legal tender and it is a physical currency we hold in our hand. In the present times, we can see many digital coins and the value of those digital coins are pegged o the US dollar. USDC is one such kind of example.
