Buying a forum or creating from scratch

When you have decided to run a forum, would you start from scratch or would you buy an existing forum. I have not only created forums from scratch but even bought a forum. Buying an existing forum helps you build your community quickly but creating form scratch takes time.

Many people who already have a lot of experience in forums prefer to buy them, especially those that are well consolidated, it is a good idea, if you do not have experience it is better to create one on your own and familiarize yourself and try your luck.

On the contrary, I believe experienced people prefer to set up their own forums because they know how to excel it, where as novices start by buying forums.
