There are different modes of payment, and Honestly using Bitcoin has a payment method is one of the fastest way to send and receive. It would drop fast, and the process is very transparent.
I don't think Bitcoin is the mainstream payment system. For that to be a reality I think majority of people would have had to invested in Bitcoin. And I don't see that being a reality. I feel most people aren't into crypto or are confused by it, so they don't invest.
Bitcoin is used by many for sure. But I don't think it's close to being the most used tool for getting paid.
But as it becomes more popular and understood, maybe it will become the main way we do transactions.

Majority of the people uses Bitcoin as a payment processor simply because its transaction is very fast. Overall, the transaction is always very safe as well.
I think that Bitcoin is not a mainstream payment system since most people and companies in the world do not accept bitcoin as a means of payment and it is really a small percentage that if it accepts it and therefore knows how to use it, probably within a few years it will be one of the largest payment methods especially on the internet and in online businesses, but I still don't think it is.
Even though some countries have started using Bitcoin as a legal tender and some companies have started using Bitcoin for international trade and commerce, I do not think Bitcoin has become a mainstream payment system. However, I believe that Bitcoin will one day replace USD for international trade.
