Do you ever do work on your house without a permit?

Have you ever attempted to do any work on your house or property without getting a permit first? Were you able to get the work done without anyone noticing? I always make sure to get a permit when I do any big work, as I don't want to end up being fined for not getting a permit. And the fines can be pretty high.

Anyway, I think if the work you're doing is small, it shouldn't be a problem right?

In our country, we do not need permits for small work. I can add patio, awning, fencing, bathroom molding, kitchen molding etc. without permits. However, for major works like adding rooms, adding a flat needs permit. I always seek permits for required work
