I don't get the idea of this thread because e-commerce is a business that is opposite the offline mall. How can retention of business be related to e-commerce? Maybe the question should be how would an e-commerce site retain its customers. The mall has customers that come back because the mall has many stores to offer that includes restaurants, snack bars and even cinema. An e-commerce site can only offer the products. That is the main difference.
 
To be honest, both businesses are not easy to operate. They have their own potential problems. If you enjoy being with people then a restaurant business would be good for you. If you are the introvert type and you enjoy nature then livestock business will be enjoyable.

I think all you need is to have good quality Products which is the basic demand of a customer. Them it doesn't matter that you are attached to an e-commerce business or physical one. But if you would keep your quality maintained then e-commerce helps you to get more and more people to buy your products because all it need is to have good ratings and reviews.
