With outdated asics that are no longer profitable, what do they do?

It is clear that asics have a limited lifespan and eventually become weaker to the point of becoming more profitable. Is it feasible to just sell them to large corporations who have need of the parts? Or will it just end up becoming garbage that can be disposed of?

I don't know much about mining, but maybe you could put it to mine other cryptocurrencies with lower hashrate such as Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash among many others, other options would also be Monero, Zcash or Ravencoin.
