I just heard that Facebook has their own crypto coming out, but no word on when. It will be called Libra, and I read about it in another topic. Anyway, with Facebook having their own cryptocurrency coming, do you think services like Twitter and other social sites will start to implement their own currencies? If so, who do you think will find more success?

I believe Twitter would likely jump on this bandwagon so as not to be left out in this revolution that's about to sweep the financial industry.

I have read about Libra last year and I am wondering why it was not launched. Is there a problem with the government? If Twitter would come out with its own coin then probably the other social media networks would follow suit. However, until now I am still not comfortable with crypto currency because of the not so clear details on its origin and its growth.

It will be a welcome development if all social media platforms could have their own cryptocurrency. I wouldn't mind to own all social media cryptocurrency in my wallet and hold it for a long time to see how well it will perform in cryptocurrency market.

I don't really support the idea of Twitter and other social media pages creating crypto currency. It will be more better if the use an existing coin as means of transaction

I believe the social media platform like Facebook ,Twitter , instagram are making money already, they don't have time to be creating a crypto currency, and crypto currency is not something you can just be creating on a platter of gold.

Yeah, Libra is a part of Facebook. It's still in the works right now, so that's why it hasn't officially been released yet. But it seems Facebook will be jumping into the fray to do their own crypto. Which I figured they would one day do.

Right? It would be so beneficial to have more options.

With how they run, they probably are always looking for new ways to make cash. Libra is a cryptocurrency being created by Facebook, so they're finding new ways to stay fresh and make money all the time. It's not out of the realm of reality that more social sites will jump on the bandwagon. It would be easy for them to do too, especially when they have the userbase already.

I have been thinking of this recently and I think it is very possible for other social media networks to follow Facebook or launching their various cryptocurrencies. It is just a matter of time then we will know.

It is very most likely that they all will want to follow suite in the fray of platforms tying to establish their own cryptocurrency. Facebook just started or hinted on starting theirs. In time, other platforms will certainly follow.

That move is inevitable. Because the cryptocurrency in itself is a money of the people, it is most likely that the social media which is a media for the masses will start to think it's time they get one for themselves like we already see Facebook doing

I don't wish for this to happen because it may make these platforms to monetize their platforms hereby forcing people to access the platform using their crypto currency alone. Let's cross hands and watch things as they unfold

I do not see the proliferation of crypto currencies as a good idea. I strongly advise against that and doubt they would.

This might be a good idea if those giant social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc can start their cryptocurrency. I'm very sure that the rate at which people will accept it will be very high.

I really do not know what is taking Facebook too long to launch the Libra cryptocurrency. This will make a lot of social media platforms to follow suit.

Twittle CEO has shown admiration around Cryptocurrency, he supports the digital coin. I believe he's simply making such plans to develop in-house coin for his Twitter site.

i don't think so, Facebook was probably the only one who had this idea on mind, considering that facebook owns atleast 3 popular platforms (instagram and whatsapp as well)
