Why bitcoin is taking too long to hit new high level?

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency which was used to considered as one of the ideal investment options by many people. However, now we have been noticing that bitcoin is now taking too long to reach a new record price level. Why is this so?
 
WE are still suffering from global recession, that's why bitcoin is not gaining value. When the world economy will come to a track, crypto will also gain value.

I think the recession is also one of the things that affected bitcoin negatively and that is why the price has not increased for days
