I am not one of those that believe that bitcoin is a disaster for the environment. I believed that the energy consumption of Bitcoin mining is exergerated. and some believed that it was perpetrated by the Chinese government in order to bring bitcoin down and promote their own digital yuan.

Yes, bitcoin is a disaster for the environment. Bitcoin consumes a lot of energy, in mining or even for transactions. One single bitcoin transaction takes as much energy as an average household spends in 50 days.

Bitcoin is a disadvantage for the environment in the amount of electricity it uses to power millions of servers that verify transactions and create new coins. It also generates electronic waste when the servers becomes obsolete and are discarded.

Could this be part of the reason why we are having the electricity bills always being on the increase all the time? This is truly a very serious problem but when we look at the benefits of Bitcoin, it would still look like something that's worth it.
