How often do you spend money to maintain mining rigs?

Maintaining mining rig is one of the most important things. This also involves paying money in order to repair the mining hardware or buying a new hardware that could help you mine coins. So, how often do you spend money when it comes to maintenance?

That takes a lot of money
I will rather invest in a particular coin than to do that
 
I do not have a mining rig. A couple of years ago, when I decided to start mining I found that even to set up the cheapest mining equipment, I needed $10K, which was a lot of money for me. Running cost was additional (prices for energy consumption and maintenance). Therefore, I dropped the idea of mining.
