I'm sure there is a site or guide somewhere that lists every current and up to date cryptocurrency, right? I think otherwise, it'd be crazy tough to find what is available. Are there any unknown cryptocurrencies not on lists? I'm just curious to know if they are all accounted for, or if there are some yet to be discovered?

There were thousands of cryptocurrencies in existence. The exact number can change rapidly as new cryptocurrencies are constantly being created and existing ones may become inactive or delisted.

There are 22,904 total cryptocurrencies from one article that I read on 14th March 2023. It's said that the total market cap of all cryptocurrency to be at $1.08 trillion and the trading 💹 volume of all cryptocurrency in 24 hours to be currently at $87 billon.

There are hundreds of cryptocurrencies; a lot of them have very little worth, and nobody knows about them. There are a lot of so-called "shitcoins." I believe there will be so many more cryptocurrencies in the future.

The cryptocurrency market is highly dynamic and subject to change. The number of cryptocurrencies can increase or decrease over time as new projects are developed or older ones lose popularity. To obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information on the current number of cryptocurrencies, I recommend consulting a reliable cryptocurrency tracking website or market data provider.

You are very correct about all those worthless cryptocurrency that they call shitcoin. I can remember a lot of people who have tried to get me to invest in so many of them with the assumption they are going to appreciate in a while so that I can make more money but I never listen to him.

there are thousands of cryptocurrencies in the world. Bitcoin, which was the first cryptocurrency, paved the way for the development of numerous other cryptocurrencies, often referred to as altcoins. Some well-known cryptocurrencies include Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and many more. However, the cryptocurrency landscape is dynamic, and new cryptocurrencies are continually being created, while others may become inactive or lose popularity. Therefore, it's challenging to provide an exact number, as it can change over time. It's always recommended to stay updated with the latest developments in the cryptocurrency space.

Even as we are discussing about the subject right now there are still so many new cryptocurrency that have been launched which some of them might even be scam projects that are set up to scam people of their money when they make investments on such cryptocurrency.

The last time I looked there were more than 24000 cryptocurrencies, it's easy, if you want to know how many there are, just go to coinmarketcap and look how many there are, I leave screenshot

As you can see there are already more than 26,000, of which 99% are useless in my opinion.

As funny as it may sound, but you are actually very correct with your assessment of a big number of those crypto-currencies being a complete waste in terms of being a good asset that is valuable for someone to invest into and make profit from it. I know it is why most of them are regarded as shit coins.

Yes, it can really be funny, but are coins that will only make investors lose money, according to statistics, more than 90% of people who enter the crypto market lose money, and surely much of that percentage is because they invest in these currencies instead of focusing on those that are potentially valuable, although their capitalization is higher.

I'm very sure that it's even more than 90% of the people who invest in cryptocurrency lose their money. It is one of the reason why I don't blame anyone who is very skeptical when it comes to investing their money in cryptocurrency because I know a few people that tell you that they don't want to have anything to do with cryptocurrencies.

I did a Google search and found an article on Forbes dated March 15, 2023. According to the article, there are about 22,932 cryptos. Coin Market Cap, the most comprehensive database of crypto has listed 8000 cryptos.

Really? That seems like a lot. I imagine most of them aren't very popular right? I can't imagine most of these are really providing a lot of profit to people. But please do correct me if I'm wrong.

But yeah, I may have to look into some crypto options now.

You are not wrong my friend because a lot of them are not even popular to even those who are heavily invested in cryptocurrency and most of them are just even cryptocurrency project setup to scam people because you will not get any profit from the Investment you've made into them.

You really can't make conclusions because even today, there are still new cryptocurrencies that are being listed. So there are just thousands of them and you just need to concentrate on the few that's profitable or you know ain't a Ponzi scheme.

Well, there's Coin Market Cap where you can know just about all of the cryptocurrency that's out and recognised in the world. If you don't see the cryptocurrency that you're looking for on Coin Market Cap, then it's something you should bother about because it's not worth it. Also, cryptocurrency is different from Ponzi scheme. They don't have any similarity.

If you think that some cryptocurrency coins is any different from ponzi scheme then it just means you know very little about the cryptocurrency market. There are coins that would be launched today, make great progress and the next day they're gone; some traders refer to them as a shit coin.

You're missing the point. There are some cryptocurrency that are scams. They are called Rugpull. They are launched, promoted to get people invest while the coin pump a bit but within a short period of time, it will crash down in worth. It's just a scam. Ponzi scheme is another thing in its own which is also a scam in its nature.

It's really funny how you still claim it's not a Ponzi scheme. Now what's the difference between what you just described and a Ponzi scheme? You think Ponzi scheme is only applicable to websites? You're really contradicting yourself.
