We always talk about how volatile crypto is. One day it could be high and the next it could be worth next to nothing. But has any cryptocurrency went the opposite direction, as in towards the negative? Like to the point the cryptocurrency starts to lose profit to the point it has to pay in. Anything like that possible in crypto?

Value of crypto coin can go down to zero, but I don't think it would have a negative value. In fact I don't even understand what does it mean to have a negative value for a crypto coin or any asset. There was once a coin called Squid Coin which was worth more than $2800 but then suddenly the value went to zero, I did not see it go below zero

Of course, cryptocurrency can “Collapse” down at any moment! Cryptocurrency is a Risk. it’s like playing in a casino. You bet the amount will either rise or fall, and in this case, therefore, there is no need to Invest and invest in cryptocurrencies. It’s better to keep your funds in the usual national currency of your country, be it even the US Dollar or Pound Sterling.

Yeah I figure it would be awful if it goes into the negative. I can see it dropping to 0, but if it were to somehow go negative, that means someone is possibly owed that money right?

True. Cryptocurrency rises and falls all the time. I just hope it never goes into the negative. I hope it's not possible to go lower than zero.

Here I think there are two confusing terms, the asset or cryptocurrency could fall to 0 and be worth nothing, that's one thing, on the other hand if there is any company that is behind said cryptocurrency and apart from falling to 0 they have debts then the entire balance sheet of those people in negative and then said project is a failure and on top of that indebted, so if that's what you mean, that could happen, let's look at the case of Terra Luna, it collapsed to 0 and sure Do Kwon owes money to a lot of people.

So if you owned 500 coins that fell to -$100 USD in value. in order to sell your 500 coins you would need to pay the buyer to take it off your hands?
