Why not both? Its not like YouTube is going to be generating income out of the blue , its a long time investment , same goes to Money-Making Forums, but its just that YouTube's Monetization potential is quite higher in the future if done right, you may even get loyal audience that you benefit of in other businesses , affiliate marketing, and even refer them to the website you are using, that is the power of YouTube and its Exposure

I do agree with using both but this is assuming you know how to do both. You can use them interchangeably really but YouTube seems to be harder and harder to make money from because of their strict guidelines and unclear policies.
