Why does the body need sleep?

As machines need recharging our body need recharging if we take example of machine systems by continuous work machinery become warm and after continual interval repairing of machine is required same as our body has required repairing which is done thorough proper sleep a normal person ha 6 hour sleep

Sleep is good for the body because it is the actual time when all the parts of the body reduce or stops from too much activity and various functions. Imagine running a machine regularly without servicing it will surely break down and might even lead to not working again in future that is the same thing with the body too
 
The body is subjected to a lot of work daily, as a result there is need for the body to enjoy some rest to enable some of the organs function properly. As a result of the search for financial freedom, alot of people work so hard and fail to rest which is detrimental to their health.

I agree, however, I think human beings spend a lot of time sleeping, an average adult spend year's sleeping cumulatively. These are years that could have been better utilised. Just like a lot of people have said the importance of sleep cannot be overemphasised.
