As humans we all need money to survive here on earth. Therefore, what ever skills and service one render, he or she deserves a pay. These includes writing, but as for someone who is new to the writing club what's the standard minimum charge per project?

If the client want to hire you to do research on a topic and come up with unique material, then the best way to charge the client through pay per hour. The minimum charge for an average writer is $12/hr.

If it happens that you have a paid thread on popular marketplace like Warrior forum, Black hat world, freelancer etc par per word is the best way to charge the clients. This can be $70 per 1000 words depending on numbers of contents the client want to purchase.

being a new writer doesn't necessarly mean that you will be doing bad, you just have to gain a positive feedback and prove that you are capable of professional writing and everything will go fine, unless you lack of creativity in writing, then i would say, 3$ or so per one blog of like 300 words or so would be fine (personal opinion)

The pay for a writer depends on the kind of writing that he does and also depends on the caliber of the writer. When I was writing for a pet magazine (Animal Scene is the largest pet magazine here) I get paid 700 pesos for each article (that's about $14). For the e-magazine of the movie industry they pay me $10 per article but that is easier for me to write. For another magazine called Panorama they paid my articles 750 pesos, just a slightly higher than the $14. I won't say there is a minimum payment for a writer. The minimum pay a writer says his or her pay should be, is what it will be. So, your minimum pay should be reasonable and in closeness to the ones you see Other writers state.
