If you are being asked by a lay man who really know that tax and revenue are source of getting money but don't the difference between the two. How can you explain to his understanding?

It is very important that tax and revenue that...
A tax is a compulsory financial charge or some other type of levy imposed on a taxpayer (an individual or legal entity) by a governmental organization in order to fund government spending and various public expenditures
Revenue is the total amount of income generated by the sale of goods or services related to the company's primary operations. Revenue, also known as gross sales, is often referred to as the "top line" because it sits at the top of the income statement. Income, or net income, is a company's total earnings or profit

Revenue is the sum total of all monies that the government generated over time. While tax is a compulsory payment made by the citizens of a country to the government. A tax is a form of revenue to the government.

Revenue is just like a national income that is generated by The Government of any Country, While The Tax is gain by imposing some necessary charges on the population of the country. That goes to Government's income.

Tax and revenue are some of the sources by which government generate money used in developing a country or providing some infrastructures. Tax is compulsory levy that working class citizens must pay while revenue are the sum total money government realized maybe through other means like payment of dues, export duties etc

Tax and revenue doesn't differ from each other. The government tax the citizens on any basic amenities in the society which turn out to be revenue for the government. The only difference is the name on how they use it but it works for same purpose. The citizens pay tax while it serves as revenue for the government.

Compulsory charge on business owners or levy imposed on taxpayers is known as -tax.

Revenue is the money generated over time. The money government generate from sales- it could be from goods and services and from crude oil.

Tax can come inform of VAT or other forms in which we directly or indirectly will pay without proper knowledge.

A tax is a compulsory charge that government impose on incomes, goods and products, which is channel towards the provision of basic amenities, while revenue is the money generated by different agencies of government, including tax collection offices, for the running of the country.

Revenue are various sources from which money is generated by the state or federal government, this includes levy, sell of government bonds etc, tax itself is a source of revenue for the government.
Tax are charges the government impose the businesses/individuals to pay for maintaining and providing security and amenities

It is really easy to understand. Look tax is an amount that is payable. Like you buy any sof drink and pay charges for it. Bu tax charges are paid to the Government of he state. Revenue is an amount that directly comes in your pocket. Like you are doing a job somewhere and get salary at the end of month.

Well yes, you have to know better that there is a remarkeble difference between Revenue and tax. If I have to conceal in a sentence then, when a charge is imposed on a citizen as a duty it is Tax, and when it is collected by the government it becomes it's Revenue.Revenue is the receipt of the government in a whole. Whatever a government receives from an receivable sector or it realizes from an invested sector, the aggregate of all those over a period of time is known as revenue while Tax is the duty imposed on a citizen by its government. Tax is just a charge not a collection because when it is collected it becomes revenue

Tax is more like an expenses if you are looking for an easy way for explaining it to a layman. It goes to the government account for the general development of the country and provision of social security and infrastructure.

Tax is linked to the government. And the tax that you pay to the government is a standard amount and you will have to pay it. It is a certain percentage on your revenue that you get. Whereas revenue is the money that is coming into your business. It is the money that you are making, whereas tax is the portion that you are paying to the government from your earnings.

Revenue is income received by a person from the sale of any commodity less the expense incurred by the person in producing that commodity. If the person is providing service then revenue would be that amount which arrives after deducting various expense incurred by the person .

Tax is a liability which a person has to pay to the government. The liability depends upon the slab in which the income of the respective person falls.

As nouns the difference between taxation and revenue
is that taxation is the act of imposing taxes and the fact of being taxed while revenue is the income returned by an investment.

On my the Different between Tax an Revenue
A tax is a compulsory financial charge or some other type of levy imposed on a taxpayer (an individual) by a governmental organization in order to fund government spending and various public expenditures
Revenue is the total amount of income generated by the sale of goods or services

It is important to establish little foundation on tax. Tax is a compulsory levy on individuals revenue. In the light of this, without revenue government can't levy tax. Revenue is any earning generated by an individual. In comparison, tax can't function without revenue to be charged on. Proceeds from taxation is used for the development of the economy such as building roads, hospital e.t.c.
