Trading, in my own view, is not business. If you're a trader, you don't own a business because trading involves only buying and selling which is a little concept in business. How do you view the two? Do we say trading is business and business is trading?

I don't totally agree with your view, before you define or see trading from you point of view, look business.

Business being an Industrial or "Commercial" enterprise which includes the people who constitute this enterprises. It also involves the exchange of goods and services.

How is trading not business?

There are almost the same thing as the Two of them are for profit making, it is very important to know trading is form of business while business could be a general name but trading is under business
Business has many branches which trading is part of such branches, trading is done under the umbrella of business policy

Trade is a part of business, but business is not the same as trade. ... Trade usually refers to imports and exports.

Trading and business, they are words with two different meaning. Trading has to do with buying and selling within domestic environments while business is very large and it has to do with both domestic and international.

Main difference in both these is; business is the entire enterprise of making, selling, and controlling the production of goods, while trade, a narrower activity, involves only the buying and selling of goods. Trade is a part of business, but business is not the same as trade. ... Trade usually refers to imports and exports.

Both are different things but purpose of both things is to earn profit. Trading is not a business because trading is the work of export and import. But business is a well set infrastructure in which you hire people etc so both are different things.

Trading is like an own business, business is real a buying an item then looking for selling and it includes so much computation before the item reach it must having a transportation to be paid. In trading it include a buying also and then selling but in the fast ways.

  1. Trade is selling and buying of goods and services between two or more parties in consideration of cash and cash equivalents.business includes the exchange of goods and services along with activities viz. banking, insurance, advertising, transportation, warehousing, etc. to complement the exchange.
  2. Trade is a narrow term that merely includes the selling and buying whereas business is a wider term that includes exchange as well as the several revenues generating activities that complete the exchange.
  3. Trade is generally done to satisfy the need of both the seller and the buyer which is more of a social perspective. Whereas the business is more economical in nature because of the involvement of several parties whose primary aim is to generate the revenue.
  4. Trade is generally a single time transaction between the parties that may or may not reoccur. Whereas in business the transactions are regular and occur again and again.

Trading and business refer to any activity carried out by a person or group of persons to generate income from selling of goods and services.
Trading is just a part of business that involves buying and selling of goods while business entails all activities like production, distribution, marketing etc.

The term trade or business generally includes any activity carried on for the production of income from selling goods or performing services.

Trade is something in which you take ready made materials from one party & sell it to another with adding your profit margin. Its kind of taking a material in bulk with low price & then selling it to customer as per their requirement. In a raw language you can consider a trader as a distributor of the particular brand.

Trading is essentially business, the buying and selling you are doing is a business transaction. They are closely related, you can't do business without trading as well, they are intertwined and I believe they are fundamentally the same.
