Things the used to work for SEO but no longer does

What are some past ways that you were able to rank in search engines, but can no longer do it today? I remember years ago that you could put backlinks in the code of the site to help it rank, but idk if that even works anymore. Or if it even did. Are there some things that worked good back in the day, but no longer does?

There Were times where your long content matters, the longer your content the ranking you have but now is strictly on content.

One thing that used to work back then that doesn't work now is the use of exact match domain (EMD). Back then, when you register such domain, you would get advantage on ranking on SERP. Again, Google algorithms has really changed in that the E-A-T (Expertise Authoritative Trustworthiness) approach has really changed the SEO and ranking strategies.

Some of the things I know about Search Engine optimization to rank for search engine is that you need to do keyword research and after the keyword research you must write good content based on the keyword research

Blog comment is one of the old tactics to rank s website on Google search but it's not longer work now. In fact, some people no longer allow comments on their websites to avoid track back .

In the past, the length of a post was very important. You could just write a looooong post and it would rank. But now, it is all about the quality of the content. Quantity doesn't matter now.

I think this is due to changes the digital world is changing everyday and there are now many people that have access to be internet so now is all about quality.

Article directories and link directories used to work for SEO because these were believed to be ultimately ways to build backlinks, sadly, these methods do not work

I remember how we so crazy about building backlinks back then. It was so great and I felt like I had learned a super hack after coming across it - it's unfortunate that this isn't working anymore.

I learnt SEO fully at the beginning of this year and I haven't even applied it yet. SEO is very important for bloggers and affiliate marketers because the more you rank on search engine, the more sales you make.
Keywords are no longer a search ranking symbol and was taken out of googles algorithm a long time ago. That's one thing. Descriptions are though and your website meta description is important. However it still helps to add keywords because while it won't change your rank it still helps the search engine know what type of site you have.
