Accounting have various functions ranging from documenting financial information and many more and why the book keepers function is to store and keep records
 
Bookkeeper and accountants job might look similar in nature to most people but they perform different work. Bookkeeper are in charge of all transaction record both income and expenditures of the company while accountants interpret, analyze data on the record then give financial advise to the company management.

There is a basically little difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant because both of them keep records, a bookkeeper only keep financial records why an accountant makes calculation off the financial records and also audit the account in terms of balance in the account for yearly transaction or monthly transaction.

Well said indeed, I think there is a reason too why accountancy is a field of study and bookkeeping isn't, we can't possibly compare the two as accountancy does more than just keep records of books

Like you said that an accountant as to do with documentation of information mostly numerical or figures, in my company where i work for then. it was the accountant that used to pay our salary.
