I see a lot of people give out too much information about themselves online. And they seem to be later regreting about it. They give out various images and the videos and later down the years they see themselves doing this. I am wondering a lot of people despite knowing what it can do to us, why do they lead to such type of activity? And why they have such mentality about it.

Do you give out too much personal information?

The internet can control your mind lol. With Mixer Twitch tiktok Instagram making you go viral, and some people making lots of money from it. Brings a lot of people that are willing to do anything for the 10min of fame from the internet. Its just the world we live in today...

It's too late these days and times. Pretty much giving out your all about you is standard. Well, nobody forces anyone to be on social media, though - and it's a no-brainer that these places are like that. Well, it's how they stay free and still make huge money.

I think it really depends on your generation for how comfortable you feel at having people know things about you. I have friends who are in their 20s and they are terrified that someone will find out their last name or the state they live in.

I'm 53 and when I was growing up, everyone had a phone book that could easily be used to find out our addresses and phone numbers as long as you could spell the last name. Today that would absolutely terrify a lot of younger people. For me, that was a way of life so no biggie.

That's the stupidest thing you can do, to post private and personal information on your Facebook account. A hacker could easily break into your account and find out everything about you.

To be honest, I do give out too much information about myself online. Well, I don't post any photos or videos but I do share my concerns with my friends.
Usually I do this in couple of forums but lately I have been restricting myself, to not to do that. Well, it's hard to break this habit but it's better to try rather than give up. Ideally, we shouldn't be giving out too much information about ourselves. Social media isn't what it used to be.

Of course not everybody will give out personal information on social media, and I don't think it is right for you to give out most of your personal information on social media.

Talking too much about yourself on public and social media forums beyond just the business that should be the real issue is exposing yourself to more dangers than safety

It depends on the website that needed my information, but before I do that I must be very sure that my information is safe with the website tho.
