Sleep studies

Has anyone here done sleep studies to make a little bit of money? I have always wondered about sleep studies and how people get into them. Either it be the one where you sit in a bedroom on a bed for days or weeks. Or some in hospital study that takes place for a day or so.

Is it worth doing sleep studies? Does it pay?

I have heard about sleep studies and making money by becoming a participant in studies. However, I guess this kind of opportunity is available only in the United States or European countries where most of the studies are done.
