With real estate I don't think it is a good idea if your capital is very small. The stocks would be a better option because you are sure to earn if you invest in blue chip stocks. My wife has a shares of stocks of her employer that is a bank. Her stocks have been with her for 3 years now. She has no intention of selling and she earns a cash dividend every start of the year.
