PayPal really is taking this to another level. First they almost banned cryptocurrencies, now people can buy crypto with PayPal balance and they even want to create their own token. It's crazy how fast things can change

For now, I don't think that Paypal will be in a hurry to take such step. Even if it does it will probably have a large user base.

This is new too me, first to hear about this from what PayPal is doing. Very interesting. I don't follow what PayPal does, I just use PayPal when I need to use it, send and receive money. Since so many currency out there and Bitcoin is not that old then why not see more. Ways making more money to exchange and to invest into. I don't know much about what PayPal new currency token they doing but will see as future posts and blogs comes.

My opinion is that it will not be the currency too soon, but if they would make their currency, I would use it. let's see what value it would have on the market. Anyway, if such a big company were to do such a thing, I'm sure the whole internet would be full of news about it.

This is something that we hope to help lift the ban on PayPal usage in some countries .

I hope they do so. Most crypto exchange platforms create their own coin but few were successful with it especially binance bnb tokens. It's a step in the right direction because they have a huge number of users.

The development of a coin for PayPal is a welcome development and it depicts that PayPal is now trying to diversify their investment.
Ofcourse , the question here is , won't the development of their own coin affect the PayPal money , considering the fact that people will prefer the coin to PayPal money because of what they will gain from it.

PayPal developing it's own coin will have no privacy. Paypal will also need to allow this coin/token in coin market exchange which is run by decentralized community. People will use Paypal money this way too, there is no guarantee if this will benefit PayPal or not.

People have been speculating this since a long time, and I see this happening because after paypal allowed bitcoin purchase, 70 percent of newly mined bitcoins were purchased through paypal. Therefore, I believe paypal want to cash out on this by creating its own coin.

Sincerely right now I don't think that PayPal on the way to create its own cryptocurrency. Until the cryptocurrency will not be recognized as legal currency globally, it is not possible for US companies to create their own cryptocurrency, as example look what happened with Facebook Libra or Diem coin! Still without launch...

That is what are anticipating about, let new coins come live and tradable in the coin market. Paypal won't be an exemption in the near future base on the Cryptocurrency feature in their platform. I think they will take time to review it and develop their own coin.

I think it would be good if they have plans on developing their token , because a lot of people would be ready to use it , just like how binance developed a token called bnb and you can use the token to reduce the fee for trading

That's a welcomed suggestion of yours, if they can invent their own coin just as binance produced their own coin named BNB. That help to reduce the transaction fee for trading, sending other coins like BTC and ETH. People swap their coins to BNB in their platform and trade, send to other wallets with lesser fees. If PayPal can follow that suit their Cryptocurrency addiction will expand higher too.

Paypal will most likely not create their own coin but they will leverage on the available cryptocurrencies in the market already.
Paypal is not an exchange gateway per say but they are a payment gateway, so I don't see them taking that drastic at of creating their own cryptocurrency.

I won't be surprised if they're actually have that in the works. Most persons with a use case are making their own case for a token seeing the capabilities and potential within the space.
