Promos and incentives will of course increase your sales and the distribution of your products. But this should be done in conjucntion with the organic promotion of your affiliate platform. Since your product will only be sold if your clients come to your site. That way, you will be sure that your promotion efforts have yielded.
 
I don't know how you can benefit in affiliate marketing through incentives and promos. As an affiliate marketer, what you are actually doing is marketing products for a company for free in a hope to make money. can you afford to give freebies.

Actually, many people like being given promo or giveaways and incentives by website owners. So I think all these things will help bring more customers or users as the case may be. But the downside may be where some people will leave the platform when these incentives are no more there. It is just my opinion.

I think that it might help to increase the sales to some extent, but an affiliate marketer must not rely on such promotions entirely. If a person does not need your product, it would not make sense to promote a product to such individuals.

This is where the law of putting your offer in the faces of the right audience comes in. That you're giving away something in exchange for their details doesn't mean you drive all and sundry to your funnel or landing page.

An affiliate marketer must not rely on one technique in order to generate sales. I think that a wise affiliate marketer can promote affiliate links in a much better way and this may also include getting involved in an affiliate marketing channels that involves promotion of links on many blogs.
