I know some people use domain redirects for their sites, but those often still point to the original link. But what about masking the site completely. Is that even possible?
I think that masking a domain is quite a clever idea in order to ensure that security is watertight and prevent the threat of potential hackers. It is definitely possible, without a shadow of a doubt

I don't really understand what you mean by making one's site completely. Could you please explain it better so i would be able to relate to what you are saying better.

I don't think masking the domain would help you get traffic and buyers.
Especially if you are into domain marketing.
One may not gain profits there
except you are running an illegal site or you are selling contrabands that is when you should have the idea of masking your domain but if not there is no need to mask your domain.

I am particularly interested in the meaning of masking the domain.
I don't do domain marketing, but I just want to know a little about it for reference purpose.

if you are into domain marketing this would be counter productive when you mask your website as you are potentially hiding your website from intended buyers or customers.

Domain masking is very possible; it's simply where you set up a website to display the content of another while hiding the destination's URL. Users will not suspect they're accessing something else.
Why go to such lengths to do this? Is it to avoid the content or domain name from being stolen? What's the intended benefits for you and the users from this?

You can showcase a distinct URL in the browser than that of the website's true URL by using domain masking. This is beneficial for websites with numerous subdomains or for companies who want to conceal their web address from rival companies.

Redirections for SEO Metrics are very bad when a robot crawl your website he will flag as red or redirect then it is wise to not use these redirections as well.

Because masking can make search engines confused and hinder them from accurately comprehending your website's structure, it is not usually advised as a best practice for SEO. Moreover, some web hosting businesses could employ masking to conceal costs and tie clients to their services.
