I run into paid to sites that were searching for graphic designers (children based themes, English knowledge required as the sites are from USA, maybe Canada too). There are different aspects of graphics design, we have 3d animations, 2d animations, logo designs, interior graphic design, general design which can include a town layout, building layout, etc. Asides from getting freelance jobs I believe there are companies that would hire professional graphic designers with some specialised skills. That certainly is one way of making a career out of it. I prefer being a freelancer with huge portfolio, you are autonomous and can work with various brands and projects.

I remember pursuing graphic designing course more than one decade ago. It was difficult in the sense that I was not truly interested, so I stopped pursueing it after taking a few classess. I believe that a person must pursue courses that interest him the most.
