There are different aspects of graphics design, we have 3d animations, 2d animations, logo designs, interior graphic design, general design which can include a town layout, building layout, etc. Asides from getting freelance jobs I believe there are companies that would hire professional graphic designers with some specialised skills. That certainly is one way of making a career out of it. I prefer being a freelancer with huge portfolio, you are autonomous and can work with various brands and projects.

Yes you are right. Graphic designing have alot of dimensions that we can work on and sell pur services to clients and earn a good money. Even a simple photoshop require a graphic designer to do so I mean small to small task is done by them and 3d animations as a high zone. So graphic designing is very good platform in near future to excel and earn a good package of money.

When it comes to animation be prepared to do hard work because it takes a lot of time to do a short animation of 1 minute running time. You have to draw the image first before you can make it move. You also have to take note of the background if the character is moving so that the background may need to change. Anyway, animators earn good money in the US but I cannot say the same here in the Philippines especially now that the movie industry is struggling.

I know a graphic designers who has lot of graphic designer up to 24 working under him. The turnover they make from graphic design logo design and other stores runs into tens of millions at the end of the year. The fact is that, the pricing I just described now as make a profession out of graphic design.

One can take graphic design as a full time job. One can become a freelancer with different companies as you've rightly put it and you could as well be a full time employee in a big company where you will be monthly pay as salary.
