I have a blog that I started last year. I have not posted much on it. Maybe 10 or so posts but I am getting back into the swing of posting 3 to 5 posts a week. Trouble is, I am not seeing any traffic. I would like to see some level of growth happening. I am just not sure what to do. It is has been a long time since I started one and the tricks I used before just don't work these days.

There are several ways to increase traffic on a new blog. Here are some tips that might help:
  1. Use long-tail keywords in your blog posts to help your content rank higher in search engines.
  2. Create long-form content for your blog that is valuable and engaging.
  3. Update your existing blog posts regularly to keep your content fresh.
  4. Use social media to promote your blog posts and engage with your readers.
  5. Use email marketing to capture email addresses and send weekly or monthly emails featuring your best posts.
  6. Optimize your blog posts for search engines by using relevant keywords in your blog titles, meta descriptions, and content.
  7. Build high-quality backlinks to your blog by acquiring links from reputable websites in your niche to increase your online authority.

I have heard of this being helpful. Can you give me a few examples of what you can change to make it better? Like using a short one and making it longer for better ranking. I want to get a better idea of how I should implement this.

Sure thing, long-tail keywords are phrases containing more than two words, that are more specific and targeted to a particular audience. These types of keywords have a lower search volume but a higher conversion rate because they target the specific needs, wants, or interests of the audience. Here are some ways to use long-tail keywords in your blog posts to help your content rank higher in search engines:
  1. Use long-tail keywords in your headlines: Incorporate long-tail keywords into your blog post headlines. This will help your blog post rank higher in search engines when people search for those keywords. For example, instead of "How to lose weight" as a headline, use "5 effective ways to lose weight after pregnancy".
  2. Use long-tail keywords in your content: Incorporate long-tail keywords into your blog post content. This will help search engines understand the topic of your post and rank it higher in search results. For example, if you write a post about "Social media marketing," you can use a long-tail keyword such as "The ultimate guide to Instagram marketing for small businesses".
  3. Use long-tail keywords in your meta descriptions: Meta descriptions are the short blurbs that appear under your blog post title in search engine results. Incorporate long-tail keywords into your meta descriptions to give search engines more context about your blog post. For example, if your post is about "Dog grooming tips," you can use a meta description like "Discover the best dog grooming tips for long-haired breeds".
  4. Use long-tail keywords in your image descriptions: Incorporate long-tail keywords into the alt text and file names of your images. This will help search engines understand what your images are about and rank them higher in image search results. For example, if you have an image of a "chocolate cake," you can use a file name like "chocolate-cake-recipe.jpg" and an alt text like "delicious homemade chocolate cake recipe".
By using long-tail keywords in your blog posts, you can help your content rank higher in search engines and attract more targeted traffic to your website. However, it is important to use these keywords naturally and not stuff them into your content. Focus on creating valuable and informative content that addresses the needs of your target audience, and the long-tail keywords will naturally flow into your content.

To help promote your blog, invite your readers to make comments and share your posts on social media. In your blog articles, use long-tail keywords. Over time, this can raise your search engine rankings and increase visitors to your website.

This is indeed true @Planbizzle. There is difference from a blog where no one is commenting and blog with lot of active comment in one condition it is in the same subject and not spam ones.

Optimize your blog for search engines by using relevant keywords in your blog posts, creating meta descriptions, and using header tags and consider using paid advertising such as Google Ads or social media advertising to drive traffic to your blog. This can be an effective way to get your blog in front of a larger audience quickly.

I am trying to figure out how much content per day/week is good.

I am thinking I will focus on posting once per day for the time being and then move down to 3 posts per week, every other day. I read that having a steady stream of new content helps build your website up on search engines.

I think social media is one of the best ways you can promote your blog or your website because a lot of people tend to see so many things on social media and you may be lucky if you have so much followers

Before you talk of getting traffic to your blog, you've to first update your blog with quality articles. You must be consistent in posting quality articles to your blog. And try as much as possible to follow seo rules in writing your articles.
