Is it important to evaluate performance of a Manager?

I believe it is so very important to evaluate the performance of manager so as to check and balance the roles of the manager. If he/she doesn't perform very well, the management can do something about and if he/she perform excellently,he/she can be appraise to boost the moral.

yes it is always important for you to evaluate the performance of a manager if you are the real owner of a particular organisation because this will give you a good understanding if the manager of your company is working or not so that you can decide to pursue the person out or not.

It is important for you to do this if you are a business manager because this will actually help you to understand the progress of your company even if you are the overall managers and some people is working on that you you need to evaluate from the senior staff to the junior staff to find out the progress of the company.
