Hi everyone!
By now, you would have noticed the Google Ads that have popped up onto the forum. We have 2 leader board ad sizes (728x90) and 1 auto sidebar ad. The one leaderboard ad in the header, next to the logo, rotates with other ads that are being paid to advertise in that spot. The footer one has the potential, if advertising is paid to place there.
Regarding Google Ads
Now, I know we have plenty of members here that would like to help out the forum, since it has given so much to them! In regards to the Google Ads, please do not click them, unless you are interested in them. If you click on the ads unnecessarily (meaning, clicking without any actual interest in the ad being advertised), we will be adversely affected.
So what can you do?
While browsing the forum, those ads rotate ads in, based off of your search and browsing history. Now these ads pop up, hoping that you might be interested potentially in what is being shown to you. When browsing, and when you see an ad that you like, only click on it if you have a goal of actually going through to look at what is being advertised. That being said, don't feel obliged to click on the ads. Only click when there is interest, and interest only.
Why only click when interested?
Google takes pride in their advertising system, and detecting a high click through rate. Now, this system is designed to help advertisers advertising in their system, to not have any fraudulent click throughs. This helps those advertising, to stay on budget. Now, not all higher amount of clicks are bad, but it can cause issues. Google is always on the move to determine how clicks were done, and how many pageviews from the same IP there was, before a click was registered.
So, what is the point of this topic? If you haven't figured it out yet, I will be brief. Please only click on the ads, when you are interested in them. Any clicks that end up being determined as fake, will not benefit this forum, so please do your best to not click on every single ad.
